Chilling out at Wine Arcade

One fine afternoon, a couple of colleagues, namely *Don and *Shannon and I decided to pop by this quaint little hideaway wine place at 116 McKenzie Road Singapore 228710 to chill since it was a slow day for sales. The number to call is 6336 2881. Wine Arcade stands alone amongst a row of shophouses in a deserted part on the fringe of town, and boosts a great, quiet ambience for wine lovers.

We chose the outdoors seat where we could chat freely, and enjoy some wine and snacks in a laid-back alfresco setting.

Look at the cosy and adorable outdoor setting of Wine Arcade. The friendly staff brought us our menus, and I left it to Don* and Shannon* to order, since they have been here before.

For the interior (unfortunately I did not manage to take pictures), the walls are filled with racks of bottles of wines. It boosts of a very European wine bar setting, and the peaceful ambience within makes it perfect for couples to enjoy a lovely time together, or friends to unwind together. It provides a very private venue for those who wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of city / town, yet wish to remain close to the fringes of city / town.

We settled on a bottle of Camul - one of the smoothest red wines I have ever had till date.

For the munchies, we had a thin-crust pizza that has a very smooth coat of cheese spread over the crust, meat and veggie. It tasted delicious.

The sausages cut into tiny pieces and cooked with a spicy sauce, made for good afternoon snacks as well. We had the peppery and normal ones - not a hint of fatty meat in the sausages. We spent about SGD$50.00-$60.00 per person for everything (we opened two bottles of wine in all), which was certainly very reasonable.

Definitely a great hangout for vast selection of wines, good food and lovely ambience.
