Back at Beer Market at my request, because I want to try one of the special pizzas. Take a look at the previous visit here. Anyway, the famous beer market exchange needs no introduction - we are all familar with the "buy when low" routine, I believe?
It was rather quiet on a Thursday night, but it meant we had the service crew all to ourselves (the tables at the front were filled though; we were at the couch area behind). The live band was belting out good songs, while *Katherine, *Kirk, *Myra and I drank to good health and happiness.
We had a round of Spring Rolls and Luncheon Meat Fries (also known as "spam fries") - the latter was crispy and simply tasty (they were not even salty). We had 3 - 4 servings of the Luncheon Meat Fries that night alone!
We had to choose between the Chicken Rice Pizza and the Salted Egg Seafood Pizza (SGD$21.90), since everyone claimed they were full. So we settled for the latter. The crust was crackling and thin, smeared generously with cheese and salted egg. There were good bits of squids and prawns, but the salted egg could have been richer / thicker. Instead, the salted egg coating was rather thin as well, unable to overcome or stand out against the seafood and cheese flavours.
As for drinks, I bidded for a Tiger Radler (needed something very cooling because I was heaty) first, followed by an Erdinger thereafter. This was beer market, so it seemed too good a chance to pass up on the beer.
*Katherine and *Myra shared a bottle of Reds (SGD$65.00), while we feasted, did major catching up, played games and listened to the live band. It was a perfect evening, a gathering of good friends and new friends!
