Review on Happy Lift Threadlift Procedure @ EHA Clinic [Sponsored]

1 Scotts Road #15-01 Shaw Centre, Singapore 228208
Tel: 6235 3325

Happy me got to try Happy Lift by the experienced Dr. Elias Tam of EHA Clinic, Orchard. Dr. Elias Tam has decades of experience with dermatology and hair-care, aids with beauty medical research, trains doctors on newest beauty technology, gives interviews on radios and is on the panel of judges for Miss Singapore Universe pageants. I am honoured to be working with him on my skincare needs.

Now, back to the topic at hand. What is Happy Lift exactly, and what does it do for us beauty-loving females (and males, too)?

Let's see. In the past, whenever we hoped to achieve a sharper chin, sharper nose or to simply look younger with firm-looking skin, we would immediately think of surgical facelift. These days, Threadlifts have been the up and coming trends, offering natural and subtle-looking lifting results which are minimally invasive, and without the downtime of a facial surgery.

There are many types of Threadlifts out there, and Happy Lift is a breakthrough beauty technology using special, absorbable threads made of Poly-Lactic-Caprolactone. It is able to rejuvenate the skin without altering any facial features, and does not leave any scars. One session of this can last 1 - 2 years, depending on each individual's unique skin type.

What are the areas that Happy Lift is suitable for?

  • Eyebrows
  • Cheeks
  • Jaws
  • Chin
  • Temple
  • Neck
  • Forehead
  • Post-traumatic or congenital paresis of facial nerves

I chose to try this treatment for my jaws area, in the hope of attaining a sharp-V jawline. The entire procedure took only about 1 hour, including numbing cream's waiting time.

How does Happy Lift work?

1. Step One: Pre-Treatment
Advised to limit / avoid caffeine and nicotine products, as well as fruits / supplement rich in anti-oxidants to prevent bruising.

2. Anaesthetics
This treatment requires local anaesthetics to lessen the pain, therefore anaesthetics is usually administered 15 - 30 minutes before the procedure, depending on each individual's pain tolerance level.

3. Marking Out of Areas to be Sutured
Areas close to the hairline will be marked as the entry and exit points for the threads.

4.  Implantation of Threads Into Skin
The injection of the threads take place, inserted into the sub-dermis layer of the skin though pin-pricked sized punctures. I felt a slight piercing sensation as the threads entered, and Dr. Elias gently threaded it along my jawline. I understand from the nurses here that different patients have different reactions - some found it to be painful, whereas others thought the agony to be subtle. I did not even furrow my brows though-out the session.

Dr. Elias expertly explained each step as we went along, and chatted with me so that I felt comfortable and assured of the safety of this procedure. There might be a little bleeding but nothing to be alarmed about.

5. Cutting of Whiskers
The threads have safely threaded through my face, and I understand that the barbs along these threads provide new support scaffolding for the surrounding soft facial tissues, lifting them and holding them firmly in place.

Dr. Elias set to cutting the threads that protruded from my cheeks, making me look like I had whiskers. Cute, but I could not move those whiskers.

6. Post-Procedure
The local anaesthetics slowly wear off, so slight swelling and aching were experienced. There was no scarring as promised, but very tiny lumps where the entry and exit points were (those disappeared within days).  I was advised not to go for any facial massage for the next 8 weeks (around 2 months).

Over time, the sutures are slowly absorbed into the body over the next 8 -12 months, stimulating collagen growth so that not only chin is sharper, but skin would appear smoother as well.

Overall, I enjoyed this session of Happy Lift, and am thankful to be able to try it out, under the care and expertise of Dr. Elias and team at EHA Clinic. It is my very first thread lift, and I actually look forward to enhancing more of my features with this safe and effective treatment.  Thank you Dr. Elias Tam and EHA Clinic for Happy Lift = happy me!

Dinner at Sembawang White Bee Hoon @ Sun Plaza [Takeaway]

30 Sembawang Drive, Sun Plaza, #03-12 Sun Plaza, Singapore 757713
Tel: 6483 1002

I am a fan of Chinese Zichar items (stir-fried), including those Seafood Hor Fun and Bee Hoon dishes. When Sembawang White Bee Hoon was all the rage (within my circle of friends, anyway), I refused to queue to try it, as usual.

After many months, I finally got to try the famous Signature White Bee Hoon (SGD$6.00 for small / SGD$10.00 for medium / SGD$15.00 for large), and understood what the fuss was all about.

Despite the fact that I chose to buy back to eat (with a 30-minute gap in between), the white Vermicelli (Bee Hoon) was moistened without being soggy. It was very palatable with hints of "wok-hei" (breath of wok), and laden with ingredients Such as shrimps, squid and eggs.

The Hor Fun (SGD$6.00 for small / SGD$10.00 for medium / SGD$15.00 for large) was laden with egg, seafood, thin pork slices and pooled in a palatable gravy. Not bad - in fact Mon Beau and a client of mine preferred this - but I was more partial toward the former.

The Mee Goreng (SGD$6.00) left much to be desired. Don't get me wrong - it noodles were smooth and the gravy had an interesting sweet-spicy taste, very much like chilli crab sauce. It would have been more fitting if they had called it "Chilli Crab Sauce Mee" instead, because our notion of Mee Goreng is the typically dry and spicy version.

Anyway, I am craving for my next plate of White Bee Hoon already, and can't wait to bring my family here to try as well.

Mucota Algana+ Hair Treatment at Chambers Hair Salon @ South Bridge Road [Sponsored]

78 South Bridge Road #01-01 THK Building, Singapore 058708
Tel: 6909 2033

Wondering to do with my newly-shortened hair when Kris Goh from Chambers Hair Salon reached out to me, inviting me for a session of Mucota Algana + Argan Oil Hair Treatment (worth SGD$310 onwards). I accepted the invite, and that was one of the best decisions I'd ever made. Why? I'll let you in on it later, but for now, let me describe a little about Chambers Hair Salon.

A fairly-new hair salon along Raffles Place area, Chambers Hair Salon gives off a clean, concise and comfortable vibe with its monochrome interiors. Personable service by Kris made me feel that our session was off to a great start, and then I discovered that there's a cabinet beneath the mirror  in front of my seat, allowing us to deposit our bags! Now I don't have to share a seat with me bag and get my butt squeezed, or being blocked by my bags on the table obstructing my mirror reflections, which is often the case when visiting other hair salons.

Kris explained to me the benefits of Mucota Algana+ Argan Oil Treatment, and that their salon only carries this quality Japanese series of hair products.  I didn't know what to expect and was very frankly expecting it to merely be yet "another hair treatment" - one that typically lasts for up to 3 days and then poof, hair is back to normal again.

Algana+ is in-fact, a cysteine-based treatment (amino acid, in layman's terms), giving our hair strength and durability. It is completely natural, safe, does not contain cancer-causing formaldehyde, and yes, IT IS SUITABLE FOR PREGNANT MOMS as well (I'm told). It is also suitable for people with wildly untamed hair or severely damaged hair due to past chemical treatments.  Algana+ is your solution, your hair's savior absolutely.

After                                                       Before

My hair was washed and re-washed between 2 separate applications of Mucota Algana + Argan Oil Treatment, namely Step 1 and Step 2. The product felt comfortable on the hair - not weighing heavy with richness or oil, and there was no smell detected at all.

my gorgeous hairstylist Kris Goh

Kris straightened my hair using lower heat than usual hair-straightening treatments, explaining that this works like a Soft-Rebonding as well, treating the hair at the same time, and keeping it sleek, straight, smooth, healthy and manageable for up to 6 months. If you don't like straightening, you can also choose to the perming version, enjoying soft curls for your mane of soft, healthy, Mucota-treated tresses.

If I had been skeptical at first, I am now very much convinced by the wonders and magic of Mucota Algana+ Argan Oil Treatment. It has been 2 weeks since my treatment, and I wake up everyday with soft, smooth, ready-to-go-out hair! You should definitely give it a go, too!

Thank you Chambers Hair Salon and Kris Goh for the fabulous nourishment for my hair, allowing me to regain hair-confidence wherever I go now.
