On The Table is the sister cafe of Lola's Cafe (review here), providing a spacious place at a shophouse area, serving hearty food by a dedicated service crew. They serve a variety of brunch items, waffles, cakes and hand-crafted coffee.
We started with Crispy Honey Wings (SGD$10.00) - battered fried chicken wings with honey and spices. This was good - crispy with sweet notes.
Smoked Pulled Pork Carbonara (SGD$16.00) - a moist mix of 6-hours smoked barbecued pulled pork, linguine, garlic, cherry tomatoes, 63° egg, parmesan cheese and cream. We thought that the addition of pulled pork kind of overwhelmed the dish, and it was a little sweet for our liking.
The Smoked Salmon and Avocado Eggs Benedict (SGD$16.00) comprised of crispy brioche toast, smoked salmon, avocado purée, poached eggs, hollandaise, mesclun salad with lemon dressing - a pretty decent brunch with all the delicious essentials.
Desserts-wise, we had Waffles with 2 scoops of Ice-Cream (SGD$10.00) - the waffles was crispy on the edge and fluffy on the interior. One of the ice-cream flavours was Earl Grey, and we loved its aromatic tea taste.
Raspberry Lemoncurd Loaf Cake (SGD$5.00) was a little coarse and dry; but the raspberry flavour with its citrusy centre, was pretty engaging.
Final dessert shared was Salted Caramel Popcorn Cake (SGD$7.00), a lovely and creamy cake with saltish notes blended with the sweetness, adding delicious bites by the popcorn sitting on top.
For drinks, there were Piccolo (SGD$5.00), Latte (SGD$5.50) and I had a Lindemans' Peach Beer. My friends enjoyed their coffees.
Overall dining experience was fun, but felt food could be better.
