Imagine entering a community club and taking it's flight of steps down to a secret alcove - comfortable, friendly crew and stunning settings surrounded by lush greenery. Yes, that was the feeling Daily Affairs Cafe & Bar gave me when I discovered it.
Offerings include Western and Asian cuisine such as Salads with housemade vinaigrette dressings, Seafood dishes and local delight Laksa etc, as well as palatable pastries and a pretty good range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Besides chilling out at Daily Affairs, this garden-themed cafe is ideal for holding functions as well.
Their Afternoon Tea set is only SGD$8.50. We tried their Gula Melaka Cake, savouring the softness of the texture and muted sweetness bursting with fragrance of palm sugar.
The Hot Chocolate was rich and creamy but not overwhelming, the perfect steamy comfort for a rainy day like today.
My Cucumber Mint Tea came in a pyramid-shaped holder, served on a section of wooden log. The presentation was pretty and the Tea, refreshing.
My client raved about their Apple Pie and Lemon Tart; she's a regular who hangs out here weekly. I would love to come back to this hidden gem to try more of their stuff, enjoying the quiet ambience in the lazy afternoons.
