Therefore it was no surprise I recommended it for lunch catching up with *J the other day. To recap, Birds of a Feather serves up modern European cuisine with an Asian fusion, hence the Szechuan infusion into some of its dishes. This place also serves cocktails and wine for chilling out well into the night. Past reviews can be found here and here.
This time round, we started with their signature Feathers Coffee (SGD$8.00) with steamed milk and burnt meringue, always a lovely drink that I enjoy very much.
For appetizers to share, we had the Fortune Skewers in Sichuan Pepper Broth (SGD$19.00) - sticks of mushrooms, lady's fingers, lotus root etc in fiery Szechuan ("sichuan") mala pepper clear broth; very appetite whetting.
For mains, the Grilled Cheese Panini (SGD$20.00) sandwiched tender braised pork belly, and was served with picked cabbage and fried potatoes on the side.
The Braised Tofu Sichuan-way with Rice (SGD$18.000 was adorable in presentation. Silken cubes of beancurd melted in the mouth into a fiery pool of deliciousness.
That's it for our dining experience back here at Birds of a Feather Cafe - am definitely looking forward to being back again.
