Dinner at Ramen Champions @ Clarke Quay

6 Eu Tong Sen Street, #03-89 / 97 / 98 The Central, Singapore 059817

The last time I visited Ramen Champions (review here) was sometime back. The other evening, I decided to try their food with the Mom, after we shopped at Liang Court. Yes, Ramen Champions now has a branch at The Central, overlooking the river.

The interior was very spacious, large breezy area with a nice little distance between each table. Besides Ramen, they also serve rice bowls (don) and Shabu Shank- interesting. Unlike the Bugis outlet aforementioned, we did not have to place orders at the individual stall - service crew would come over to assist with ordering.

I started with a Sakura Whiskey Sour (SGD$7.80) - pretty bland and very fizzy. The only thing I could taste was the sweetness of the maraschino cherry at the bottom.

For Ramen, we ordered the Special Tonkotsu Ramen (SGD$14.80) to try. For this series they also have the green (spinach) and pink (beetroot) versions. Broth was very flavpeful and noodles were springy. Ingredients comprised lean, tender pieces of pork ("chashu"), sweet corn, black fungus, braised egg and spring onion dices.

Also to share, we had a Katsu Don (SGD$13.80) - fried chicken cutlet with rice and onion egg. Portion was very generous; we thought the chicken pieces were somewhat tough in texture and too thick in size.

Overall that sums up our dining experience at Ramen Champions.
