I was honoured to be invited for above Wine Tasting event and opportunity to meet Hugh Hamilton (owner of McLaren Vale wine).
The tasting event introduced to us the series of their fine wines, starting from rose-hued "The Drama Queen", taking us through a range of Shiraz ("Black Blood" series, "Black Ops" and "Jim Jim"), etc. My personal favourite was the Cabernet Sauvignon "Sky Rocket" which was liquid silk on the palate.
Pairing with wine was a delicious assortment of canapes such as Bruschetta, good variety of Cheese and pastries.
Hugh Hamilton himself gave an introduction of how wine began in his family. We had expected a sommelier introduction instead, and were a little disappointed.
Nonetheless, overall tasting session was enjoyable and we were grateful for the detailed information on each type of Wine.
