Giovanni L has made its way to the CBD area finally, after making its presence at Fort Canning and Marine Parade areas - check out my review here.

Anyway, they are usually beside / with the Seattle Pike Chowder bistro (review here), and serves up creamy, flavorsome gelato in unique flavours. We are talking about 3 generations of rich, handcrafted gelato from the Lasagna family (that's what the L stands for).

*J went for the Triple Scoop in a cup (one may choose cone if they like) - Caramel, Mocha and Pistachio. The ice-cream is served with very crispy Wafers.

I went for Popcorn Affogato (SGD$7.90). They have 2 other flavor- Marshmallow (which I was afraid might be too saccharine) and Tropical Fruit (which I ordered initially but staff informed me that it's Gelato served with Orange or Mango, no espresso for this dessert). The Espresso for my Popcorn Affogato was already poured into the scoop of Gelato (I chose Pistachio flavor), and the popcorn gave my drink some crunch.

It was an enjoyable perk-me-up caffeine boost cum dessert, perfect for any workday when energy is going low. I will drop by more often now that there's a branch within the office vicinity.
