[Poem] Do You Know?

Do you know,

My darling,

(Should've been pillow talk)

But I whisper

Against your cold lobes,

Against the wind's screams,

Do you know?

Know that my heart

Still pounds fiercely

For you;

My skin still trembles

At the thought

Of your fingertips

Trailing the contours.

Know the above,

But do you also know?

That the mind

Has chosen to close,

To flee, to draw

The flesh away

From you.

Do you know,

That when someone leaves,

And the harder you try

To pull back,

The more it hurts?

Hurting me, when I want peace;

Hurting you, when you want me.

Do you know, My darling,

(Should've been a smile),

But tears stream

Down my eyeliner,

Darkening my face,

Leave my dreams alone.
