After the fabulous session at Fumee by Habanos (review here), I decided to bring a couple of guy buddies back when we planned a catch-up dinner.
The restaurant was bustling with customers tonight, and not sure if it was because of that (plus the live band playing at the other corner), the noise level was quite high, and wait staff kept hearing us wrong. Minor inconveniences aside, all was okay.
We started with Chicken Hearts (SGD$7.00), every bit as succulent and bouncy as I'd remembered from the previous session here.
Then we had Calamari (SGD$10.00) with truffle relish dip on the side. Flesh was slightly chewy, rather soft, but not crispy as menu stated. The portion was generous for the price.
Following that, Naked Foie Gras (SGD$14.00) - buttery and tender seared foie gras on crispy brioche, with balsamic glaze adding a touch of refreshing zest. This was the winner of the night for us.
Next up, Muah Otah Burger, which differed fron when I last had it as well. Bun was different, but thankfully the thick otah patty was still springy and spicy, enabling us to relish in its texture and taste.
Finally, US Angus Short Ribs (SGD$68.00), with meat so fine, so succulent and moistened, it fell off the racks like a dress. I didn't get back the "wow" feeling of joy as I did the first time when I tasted this, nor did my friends oddly.
Anyway, glad to have returned and tried more items!
