Every step is a step further
Away, from the dark shadows
Painted with you in mind.
Your intense invasion
Of my mind and soul,
Has left them raw and open.
Cast to the universe
Are endless thoughts of what-ifs,
Like stars, these possibilities.
Even as we lay under the stars,
Listening to each others' heartbeat
We knew "us" was slowly fading.
