You and I,
We did a waltz into the sunset,
Do you remember,
Glistening blinks from windows reflected,
Cutting glares from lakes' surfaces,
We held tight through it all.
We waltzed into the darkening night,
The rose bush, where love took place.
I had to leave when day slipped between us,
But you held me at knifepoint,
Beneath the flames burning passionately
For the rising of the Sun.
Forbade me to step out,
Or leave your cloying presence;
While I struggled with my emotions.
Oh no, mon chere, that didn't happen,
It took place in my mind,
Which long ago, I termed 'Hope'.
