Poem: Touching a Dream

You were touching a dream,
So was I, the same dream.
That of laughing through your eyes,
Of bidding goodnight through your lips.

You were touching a dream,
Touching hearts and souls,
I am touching everything you touched,
As if I could feel you this way.

As if I could warm you back to life,
With these little gestures of affection,
Of love realized too late,
Leaving regrets like ashes in the rain
