Still one of my favoritest places for desserts and tea, Fruits Paradise never fails to entice me with its array of gorgeous, delicious tarts. Today, however, I decided to lunch here as well, trying out their savoury items.
The Fried Prawns Curry Rice (SGD$13.90), essentially your "ebi" with rice, since this is a Japanese-Western fusion dining concept, was huge in portion. There were both fries and rice - making it a very filling dish; fries were crispy, salad was refreshing and the curry gravy was well-flavoured. It had a lithe touch of sweetness in the spicy taste. The lightly-battered shrimps were crumbly on the outside, springy on the inside - making for a excellent lunch if calories ain't a concern.
An Iced Yuzu Mint Tea (SGD$5.80) helped ease the stronger flavours of the lunch dish, a lovely union of two of my favorite things - citrusy and minty, perking me up immediately.
Dessert was a slice of Strawberry Tiramisu (SGD$6.80). The crust was buttery, light and crunchy as ever; and the fruits used were natural, fresh and juicy. The spongy tiramisu, with its fluffy layers of mascarpone cream, was gentle on the palate, exuding aromatic coffee flavour. Another slice of heaven, another piece of decadent indulgence.... another day of happiness was achieved by this dessert alone.
Overall, I enjoyed every single item here, and will continue to patronise Fruits Paradise because I haven't tried all its tarts yet, and I still cravings for its old favorites every now and then. What a splendid spread of scrumptious delights!
