Christmas Get Together 2014 at Prive @ Chijmes

Under the Prive Group and from the family of my favorite Prive at Keppel Bay, the catching up location for tonight's Christmas gathering with *Amelia and *Janice was held at Prive @ Chijmes. It is a centralised location with an inviting alfresco-ish dining area, and we have not been back to Chijmes for a while. The restaurant is nestled at one end of Chijmes, open-concept but seconded in a lovely circular garden setting.

A lovely restaurant serving fusion dishes, we decided to start with some Popcorn Shrimps (SGD$10.00) - huge, juicy and succulent coated with crispy bread jacket. It is delicious enough on its own, but one could further enthrall the tastebuds with the cheese dip served together.

For mains, both the girls had the Pan Roasted Seabass (SGD$26.00 each) - served with polenta parmesan cakes, roasted cherry tomatoes, steamed brocooli, English peas and served with garlic butter sauce. *Aileen had the original one with the rich garlic butter sauce while *Janice asked for her sauce to be served on the side. Both enjoyed their tender fish.

I tried the festive items starting with the Cream of Chestnut with Turkey Ham (SGD$12.00) served witthe h ricotta toast. The soup was a thick blend of sweet-savoury blend, redolent with chestnut's mildly distinctive flavor; the slivers of turkey ham was tender but a tad salty in my opinion.

I also had the Blackforest Tart (SGD$13.00) - another item on the festive menu, complete with maraschino cherries atop rich chocolate ganache, soft chocolate sponge cake cubes and vanilla chantilly. The crust tasted strongly of buttery fragrance and was deliciously crunchy. It was a fabulously dessert.

For Happy Hour, *Janice had a Kronenbourg for just SGD$9.00 and I had a glass of Prosecco at just SGD$12.00.

Service was a little slow, but the evening was cool, the setting was pretty chic, and food was rather up to mark, hence we enjoyed our visit to Prive at Chijmes.
