Universal Studio Singapore

Since Universal Studio Singapore opened, I have been here several times. Located at 8 Sentosa Gateway, Sentosa Island, Singapore 098269, the number to dial is 6577 8888. It is movies lovers' dream come true, as one gets to ride and experience their favorite movie scenes and watch the attractions of their their favorite blockbuster movies.

This is the famous giant globe greeting visitors at the entrance. Universal Studios, Singapore opens daily from 10.00am to 7.00pm , and tickets are priced at SGD$74.00 for adults, SGD$54.00 for children and SGD$36.00 for senior citizens.

Hollywood

They are divided into several sections. The first that greeted the visitors would be the Hollywood section, where the entire place is furnished  a la Hollywood, with the shops and cafes that totally make one as though they've been transported to heart of the entertainment universe literally. It is so beautiful and charming, this place. Some of these cafes and shops are actually open for business, really, so do pop in for a cuppa or two.

New York

This is another glittery, glamorous part of Universal Studios, Singapore, and brings out the bustling beauty of New York City itself. Here is where one could get lost in the likes of Manhattan City and lots of city skyline views, branded shops, luxury vehicles and very classy restaurants. 

Sci-Fi City

This is the section where all the Transformers lovers should be at. Termed also as "The City of the Future", come in here to experience some unbelievable thrills in this vibrant city filled with rides and impressive creations. One may also test their stamina twirling around in the Accelerator ride.

Ancient Egypt

Next up, we visit Ancient Egypt where "ancient pyramids and obelisks stand fast against the sands of time", an exciting place where pharoahs' tombs are discovered, terrible curses unleashed, intricate hieroglyphics toss one into puzzlement. We took photos with the ancient army of Egypt and also an exciting ride "Revenge of the Mummy" where one is cast into a dark world of bugs, pyramids and some startling scenes out to scare, in this indoor roller coaster.

Lost World

This is where Jurassic Park meets Water World, a thrilling discovery trail of dinosaurs, skeletal fossils, dinosaur eggs and some rides. One may also choose to do rock-climbing on this wall called the Amber Rock Climb.

 The Water World performance is exciting and entertaining, keeping us transfixed with some story of pirates, water splashing and fires burning ablaze. There may be shocking moments of loud explosions, but other than that, all is great. There are limited showtimes, so do keep a lookout for the performance.

We also had fun at the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure - a thrilling river raft ride featuring a white water raft system with state-of-the-art animatronics and a thrilling white water drop. We got wet in this despite the plastic sheets that covered us, but worry not, they've lockers for you to store your belongings.

Far Far Away

This is where castles and fairy tales all come alive, for those who love the world of the enchantment, magic and beauty. One may also enjoy some rides such as the Shrek 4-D Adventure, Enchanted Airways roller coaster and Magic Spin Potion.

Madagascar

This is another area where the cartoon characters come alive! If you are bringing kids, this would their ideal indulgant spot - a dense jungle adventure filled with fun, adorable characters and completely safe.  They can also ride the carouse named King Julien's Beach Party-Go-Round.

I ended the day buying some giant cookies and keychain.

Universal Studios, Singapore is a fun spot to be at, whether with family or friends. There is much to entertain and view, as well as get some dining + shopping done. For those who love rides and photo-taking , there is aplenty to do here too. Recommended about 6 hours there, because the park is huge and there is time spent on waiting for one's turn to take the various rides.
