Lunch at LeVel 33 @ Marina Bay Financial Centre

It was a sunny afternoon and due for a catching up with the buddy. Since we were in the MBFC / Asia Square vicinity, I suggested LeVel 33 Restaurant located at Tower 1 of Marina Bay Financial Centre. The lift lobby took us straight up to the front of the restaurant with great views of the CBD area.

The exact address is 8 Marina Boulevard #33-01 MBFC Tower 1, Singapore 018981 and the number to dial is 6834 3133. LeVel 33 is the world's highest urban craft brewery.

The cozy, posh restaurant (by day) and lounge (by night) is done in lovely shades of luscious brown and sleek wood. There are several dining areas - bar counters and 2-3 different sitting areas all done in a sophisticated, contemporary design.

While browsing the Executive Set Lunch menu, we had great views overlooking the city skyline. Those choosing to dine alfresco would have an eyeful! It is so picturesque beyond the balcony. Yes, they have set lunches going for SGD$33.00 each, and the famous Ploughman's Table serving appetizers and desserts.

This is the famous Ploughman's Table, lined with delicious selection of salads, charcuterie (cheese and accompaniments), mini pastries and fresh fruits.

I was especially enticed by this section where there's piles of succulent-looking Smoked Salmon and bouncy, juicy looking Shrimps. Once we placed our orders, we could feel free to attack the counter which was buffet concept. One could pay SGD$28.00 just to eat from the counter instead of having the set lunch.

I tried the Poached Egg - smooch, tasty and soft, with the distinctive sweetness of eggs filling the mouth pleasantly.

A gentle portion of Ham, and Pasta Salad to test the standard of their food. The ham was succulent, the pasta was cooked to a delicious bouncy texture and the vegetables were crispily fresh. It was not hard to want more.

I preferred the lighter, fresher, healthier and sweeter range of appetizers such as Pink Grapefruit (very sweet and juicy!), succulent and springy Shrimp cocktail, and Salads of fresh greens. The Smoked Salmon, while being scrumptious and tender, was a tad salty in my opinion.

I had a pot of Ginger Lemongrass tea for the meal - a pot of soulful, soothing, hot tea that awakened the senses and brightened one's day.

My main was the Roasted Angus Sirloin sandwich - complete with onion marmalade, wholegrain mustard bread , arugula, fat cut chips and 33.1 Blond Lager infused ketchup. The bread was a little hard, but was a necessary texture to conquer the strong flavors of the onion marmalade and tasty minced beef steak - this steak was a neat delight of savoury and sweet blend. The fat cut chips would have been lovely if crispier.

The buddy had the Burger and Chips - chargrilled 33.2 Pale Ale infused Angus patty, chilli onion marmalade, crisp bacon, aged cheddar, truffle mayonnaise, fat cup chips and 33.1 Blond Lager infused ketchup. The beef patty was tender and juicy, with the smokey overtures chargrilled patties should have. The bacon was crispy and deliciously complements the burger with its burst of textures and sensations - fresh sweet crisps of veggies, succulent chewiness of beef patty and crispiness of bacon.

The meal cost us SGD$47.00 each, but was a lovely lunch comprising of lovely ambience, immaculate service and awesome views. Talk about power lunches!
