Dinner at Fukuichi Japanese Restaurant @ TripleOne Somerset

Having been to Fukuichi Japanese Restaurant twice before (read about it here), the craving for their food just doesn't leave me, so when *Charmaine suggested going there for dinner last evening, she was literally answering my prayers. Fukuichi Japanese Restaurant is located at 111 Somerset Road #02-11 / 12 TripleOne Somerset, Singapore 238164 and the number to dial is 6271 5586.

Service remains attentive and excellent, and ambience is still the same - quiet, exquisite and serene. I had my much-craved Cold Crabmeat Tofu - a very delicious and rich blend of crab-tofu served with a thick layering of mashed century egg, spring onions and scallions on top. The flavor is buttery, flavorful and refreshing.

Next, the Cold Fish Noodles - something I had ordered by mistake. It somewhat slipped my mind that usually I ate the Hot Fish Noodles (the soup is fabulous), but this was one of their signatures as well, and it sure didn't disappoint. The noodles were springy with good texture that was not too hard nor soggy, and because it is made entirely of fish flesh, there was a tinge of sweetness to it. Dipped with the cold dark sauce that it is served with, this dish leaves one desiring for more.

The next item I had was the Salmon Sashimi - slices of thick, fresh and sweet raw salmon that does not lose its bouncy texture.

Last but not least, I ordered a Chawanmushi as well, and man, was it huge! The steamed egg custard was smooth and of course, when piping hot, tasted heavenly. It was light and soft, with hidden treasures such as a juicy prawn, tender chicken chunk and shiitake mushroom slice to add "soul" to the lovely pool of egg custard.

*Charmaine had a Chirashi Don (SGD$35.00) - rice with assortment of sashimi. Look at the colorful, tantalizing looking bowl of scrumptious seafood filled to the brim - salmon, tuna, swordfish, shrimp, roe and squid. The raw fish were all very fresh and easy on the teeth.

We ended the sumptuous meal with a scoop of Matcha (greentea) ice cream (SGD$5.00) each, topped with red beans. While not exceedingly sapid of the greentea's aroma, this was a refreshing and gentle finish to the assortment of savoury delicacies we had earlier on. I spent SGD$60.00 in total for my dinner with assorted items.

Would I return for more? You can count on it.
