Had an enjoyable session at Pool Grill same time this year (review here), so decided to head back with *Pamela, the sweetheart with exact same birthday as me.
Weather was hot and humid, even a little stifling, but the large overhead fans kept the beautiful poolside ambience bearable. We had a table by the pool, and as usual the service crew was professional, polite and rather immaculate.
Glasses of Rose Wine (SGD$18.00) started the meal; I took mine gingerly over Bread (with sunflower seeds and grains) served with dips of olive oil, butter and crushed nuts.
The Spaghetti (SGD$28.00), as it is simply called was a lovely composition of pasta tossed with chilli, garlic, clams and sea urchin. I thought it was a rather refreshing touch because I usually get white wine sauce with clams in pasta, but this was done aglio olio style, utterly tasty.
Pan-fried Cod Fish (SGD$38.00) was sweet-fleshed and flakey, enhanced with red wine reduction. I also enjoyed the crispy cauliflower confit very much, adding bite to the dish.
Overall we enjoyed the dining experience here at Pool Grill tremendously, chatting while watching action over the pretty pool.
