Dinner at Breko Cafe at Holland Village

38 Lorong Mambong, Holland Village, Singapore 277694

Breko Cafe was established in 1999, giving it a 15-years' history. That is pretty impressive for an F&B establishment, and we were keen to discover the secret to their sustainability. A 2-storied cafe and sandwich bar with rows of long tables as well as small tables, staff who were efficient enough, and a menu filled with lists and lists of burgers, American-styled meat / fish dishes, as well as delectable brunch items (the latter available till 3pm only).

As it was our pre-Christmas dinner, we started with some toasts over Beers (2 for SGD$13.90++ or SGD$15.90++ Happy Hour) - Corona, Stella Artois and Asahi were called to the table.

Foodwise, we began with an order of Truffle Fries (SGD$10.90) - crispy shoestring fries with very light truffle taste and strong Parmesan cheese taste - good enough for us, especially with enjoyed over beers.

The Parmesan Baked Fish (SGD$15.90) comprised a large fish (dory?) - flakey, snow white, soft, coated beautifully with Parmesan for a creamy cheesy flavour and oven-baked..

Spaghetti Carbonara (SGD$14.50) - pasta on creamy egg sauce and smoked bacon, was smooth and light in flavour; pasta could have been more al-dente.

Lastly, Bacon Cheeseburger (SGD$15.90) - crispy bacon on thick layer of melted cheese on juicy, succulent beef patty. Enjoyed the sweetness of toasted buns sandwiching the saltish ingredients within - one bite, and the mouth was filled deliciously.

Overall, dining experience here was enjoyable and relaxing. Would like to come back to try some of their savoury Waffle brunch items or Brekki in a Pan.
