Afternoon Tea at The Dispensary Bistro @ D'Leedon Condominium

Headed to D'Leedon Condo today and decided to grab a tea by the pool. Complete with dark glasshouse concept and interesting ancient Oriental objets d'art is The Dispensary Bistro!

Yes, the same Dispensary Cafe that was at Tiong Bahru - designed to look like a Chinese medical hall. The new decor is more simplistic and westernized, with just some of the Oriental objets d'art strewn around the cafe. Lovely swimming pools outside the cafe gives a good view, and the staff was quite friendly and personable.

Food items was limited to snacks (mostly fried items like Spring Rolls, Nuggets, etc) and some pasta dishes. They had a good selection of cakes, flavoured croissants and ice-cream. There is no service charge here.

Cappuccino (SGD$5.50) was darkly aromatic and served in bright, contrasting orange cup against sky blue saucer. Quite smooth coffee with right level of foam, a good indulgence on a cool day as such.

Mocha (SGD$5.50) was smooth and very rich in chocolate flavour; I totally enjoyed the aromatic bittersweet flavour of this drink.

The Rainbow Cake (SGD$7.50) was served on a very pretty swan plate. Cake had texturized moistness and was not too sweet; each layer had its distinctive flavour.

Earl Grey Cheesecake (SGD$7.50) - silky and melty in texture. The cheese flavor was strong but faint hints of earl grey fragrance could be detected; I feel the tea flavour could be bolder.

Overall, this was a lovely place to chill, especially for those who love a tranquil, serene settings and poolview. Complimentary wi-fi is also available if you would like to get some work done here, especially on weekday afternoons.
