Poem: Mixed Feelings

Mixed feelings are
When the pool is tranquil
And surroundings ever so peaceful
Yet the heart is in a turmoil,
Unable to stay still,
A cacophony of emotions.

Mixed feelings are
When I apply lipstick
In the morning mirror so sleek
Reflecting sunrise without meek,
Yet my mind is dark,
Blocking out the light.

Mixed feelings are
Seeing the diamond on her finger,
Knowing you will not linger
And wait around for me forever,
Because I can no longer waver,
But oh, what a sharp pierce it was.
