The Nuptial Series [Special Edition] - Wedding Styles 2016 in Singapore

This is a special request by Kate Jones of Paperless Post - depicting the speculated wedding styles for Singapore in 2016.  After my thorough research and shopping for my own wedding preparation needs, see below Mood Board for some idea and inspirations.

Yes, it seems that the recent trends for Gowns are leaning more towards details- be it embroidered lace, sequins in different forms or pearls, etc - and Korean bridal gowns are especially popular as well. People are less conventional and do not mind some touches of colors to their gowns - even a little black.

For Photography, it is unlike our parents' time when the foci was on the faces and expressions of the couples, resulting in close-up shots mostly. These days, the backdrop and effects are very important elements of a bridal shot - the more dramatic, the more beautiful it is thought to be. On top of that, people seem to go for more casual shoots in schools, cafes, sports areas etc as well.

Finally, for Wedding Cards - more intricate and less conventional designs seem to be in favour lately - scrape your typical red and gold Oriental-rich cards. Handmade options are popular because they are able to create styles reflecting what the couple really like - ribbons, heart-shape papercut, tuxedo cards etc. But people are on the extreme ends when it comes to cards - you either end up receiving really unique cards, or none at all - relying on a Whatsapp Invitation for the details of the wedding date, time and venue. I don't know about you, but I feel a little effort goes a longer way.
