Review on Rejuran Healer (婴儿针) at EHA Clinic @ Orchard

1 Scotts Road #15-01 Shaw Centre, Singapore 228208
Tel: 6235 3325

My close friends all know that I battled acne during my teenage years; and then in my adult years, I waged wars on my acne scars. From super thick coverage makeup to chemical peel to MTS Subsicion, I see some results but nothing that made me go "wow".

Recently,  I learned about Rejuran Healer, also may be known as PDRN Therapy, PN Fillers, Miracle Healer Injection or 婴儿针 (Baby Skin Injection). What exactly is Rejuran Healer, and how does it help the skin?

To put it simply, it is the injection of PN and PDRN into our skin. Polynucleotide (PN) is a biocompatible substance, also known as DNA fragments, and it is injected into the skin to boost hydration, stimulate collagen growth, counter ageing effects, and heal the skin effectively. PN is a long chain of nucleotides, and PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleutides) is a subtype of PN; in Rejuran treatment, both PN and PDRN are present. Salmon DNA is used because it is found to have the most compatibility with human DNA, and it is heat-resistant and safe to use.

There are 3 types of Rejuran treatments namely Rejuran Healer (for full face rejuvenation), Rejuran-S for acne scars treatment, and Rejuran-I for under eye treatment.  Some doctors will add skin boosters to help speed up healing process as well as provide optimal results with such a combination. Treatment comprises 3-4 sessions done 4 weeks apart, followed by maintenance done every 6 or 12 months, thereafter. One can expect minimal discomfort or downtime with this non-invasive treatment. Prices vary but it is safe to say that per session ranges between SGD$480 to SGD$1,000 per Rejuran treatment (2ml), depending on which doctors or aesthetic clinics you choose to visit.

I chose to do mine with the talented Dr. Elias Tam of EHA Clinic, Shaw Centre. When I reached his clinic, his team of friendly girls attended to me - form filling, bringing out hot chrysanthemum tea and preparing my face for the injection. I underwent a consultation session with Dr. Elias Tam, who gave me some advice on after-care tips.

Then I proceeded to the treatment room where his girls helped remove my makeup and apply numbing cream to my face. Less than half an hour later, treatment commenced. Dr. Elias Tam himself administered the Rejuran injections. We started with half the face first. I could feel mild prickling sensation but the discomfort was minimal; there was a very faint "fishy" smell because of the salmon DNA, but I was fine with it (just in case some of you didn't know what to expect).

There was a little bleeding, especially for the deeper scars where Dr. Elias Tam worked harder on, to let the PN / PDRN penetrate better. My face was cleaned up after the 25-minutes treatment, and I was put under a Light Treatment to let skin calm down. I think I fell asleep during this 15 - 20 minutes period.

Immediately after the treatment, my face was filled with rows of small 3D circular bumps, looking kind of ugly (you might even get goosebumps). The bumps subsided within the day mercifully (I walked around with sunglasses), and over the next few days, there was some redness. Light minerals makeup is recommended if you need to put makeup the day after the treatment. Skin smoothed out and felt plumper.

Overall, I like Rejuran Healer, and cannot wait for the next shot. If you have cause to worry that you might be allergic to seafood / salmon, do ask for a patch test before the treatment, just to test your body's reaction. Thank you Dr. Elias Tam  and team for taking care of my skin, and for the opportunity to try this new form of treatment in the market!

Beef Buffet Dinner at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant @ Star Vista

1 Vista Exchange Green, #02-17 The Star Vista, Singapore 138617
Tel: 6735 4001

Time for dinner with *K and *E, my favorite male buds again. Recently, dinners with them mean buffet adventures, since they like variety and quantity all in one. Tonight, we embarked on our first ever DIY BBQ Buffet - yakiniku beef meal!

Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant has outlets at EU Square, Chijmes, Star Vista, One KM Mall and Novena Square; we chose Star Vista in the hope that it was less crowded. Besides the usual booths and tables, the restaurant also has a few private dining rooms.

Ala carte menu aside, Gyu-Kaku offers buffet dinner at SGD$64.90 (Australian Wagyu Beef Buffet) and SGD$84.90 (Japanese Kagoshima Beef Buffet). Besides beef, buffet includes free-flow green tea or soft drinks, seafood items, chicken, pork and vegetables / salads as well. That makes it really value for money, if you ask me!

We started with the various cuts of Kagoshima Beef, followed by Australian Wagyu Beef. It was pretty fun as we got to grill the meat ourselves, controlling the done-ness. Kagoshima Beef was, needless to say, more tender and moistened.

We also enjoyed the Squid, and Buttered Scallops, and Shrimps. I asked for several helpings of Wafu Salad as those went really well with the barbecued meats, adding a healthy touch at the same time.

Other items tried were Bacon, Chicken, Pork, Beef Tongues and Japanese Gelato. I also had a Plum Wine Soda (SGD$10.00).

Overall a very hearty meal, we enjoyed the variety and fun ever-grilling experience at Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ Restaurant immensely.

Lunch at P. S. Cafe @ One Fullerton

1 Fullerton Road #02-03B / 04 One Fullerton, Singapore 049213
Tel: 6708 9288 / 8812 3298

Not a stranger to P. S. Cafe and it's various outlets (reviews here and here), all done in exquisitely beautiful settings with chandelier lights and lush greenery etc. The new outlet at One Fullerton has the added advantage of the Singapore River, enhancing it's ambience a notch.

Service was good, especially by section manager Maricel. Ambience was definitely lovely , touches of nature in subtly elegant settings. Menu comprise of many items, ranging from local delights (think Laksa and Prawn Noodles) to burgers, pastas and pizzas etc.

Both my friends opted for the signature P. S. Burger (SGD$22.00) - crispy toasted sesame buns clasping juicy, succulent beef patty (Wagyu and US chuck), vintage Cheddar, Onions, crispy Bacon, tomato and wilted spinach.

One of them changed the fries to P. S. Cafe's famous Shoestring Truffle Fries (SGD$5.00) - lightly infused with truffles' earthly aroma but not overpowering.

The other opted for the Crispy Smashed Potatoes - crackling and flavorful.

I settled for Spicy King Prawn Aglio Olio (SGD$29.00) - a little punch of spiciness with gentle aroma of fresh herbs, springy Spaghettini and bouncy Tiger Prawns. Sesame bread crumbs added bite to the dish.

Another must-have here would be the Sticky Date Pudding (SGD$15.00) steamed to a fluffy perfection tossed in a pool of toffee sauce.

Other desserts that seem enticing include Flourless Orange Cake, Key Lime Pie, Marshmallows Chocolate Cake etc.

A glass of Pinot Noir (SGD$22.00), Oakridge Over the Shoulder, Yarra Valley - smooth and fruity with the slightest hint of oak.

The Cuppaccino (SGD$6.50) was rich and tasty, concluding the meal beautifully.

Overall dining experience here at P. S. Cafe @ One Fullerton was super - service, views and scrumptious food - we had them all.

11 Cove Drive, #01-15 One Degree 15 Marina, Singapore 098491
Tel: 9104 2626 / 9712 7218

Yachting is one of the activities I love, being out on the seas, kissed by the winds and listening to the waves sing it's lullabies; the whole experience is just so seductive. Yachting used to be an expensive activity, and may still be thought so these days.

With Bob Marine Yacht Charter however, one can look forward to an unforgettable yachting experience from $800 onwards. Be it for friends, celebrations or corporate team bonding, yachting can now be made affordable and a favourite pastime for the lovers of the seas.

The "Bob" in Bob Marine stands for "band of  brothers",  because the co-founder Kah Meng believes that in order to succeed, it takes teamwork and people striving together, like a band of brothers in arms. Recently, I was honoured to be introduced to him, and an experience on board The Sardinia. This ship can hold up to 38 pax comfortably, on upper and lower decks.

The exterior is pristine white and very neat, allowing  guests to sit and enjoy the breezes in total comfort. The interior is tastefully furnished in varnished wood and black cushions.

What to do on board a yacht?

  • Take great photos
  • Relax and watch the sunset
  • Eat, drink and party
  • Hold celebrations for birthdays or weddings
  • Island hopping
  • Corporate team bonding
  • Hold talks for clients
  • Sail somewhere to kayak and play in the waters
Besides The Sardinia, other yachts under Bob Marine Yacht Charter currently are Golden Ocean and Sea Wind One. Do check them out for your out-at-seas getaways. Thank you Bob Marine Yacht Charter and Kah Meng for the enjoyable experience!
