I was looking for setting powder because my favourite and effective Laura Mercier Powder (review here) finished. Usually I would just buy this product over and over, but recently my bff  *Pris mentioned Too Faced Hangover 3-in-1 Coconut Spray and how refreshing it felt on her skin. I was naturally tempted to give it a try and so I got a bottle.

The main ingredient is coconut water and this wonderful pro-biotic spray is oil-free, silicone-free and alcohol-free, therefore suitable for sensitive skin.

When using, hold the nozzle about an arm's length away and spray over the face. If used as a primer, spray before makeup application. If used for setting makeup and making it last longer, spray after full-face makeup is completed.

This spray can also be used throughout the day to refresh and hydrate skin; this is very important especially if we stay in air-conditioned environment for long hours. I also use the spray on my hair to give it some moisture throughout the day as well.

Overall verdict? Easy and fun to use, and I like it as a booster for my skin and hair. However, I find that it doesn't keep my makeup on as lasting as Laura Mercier setting powder for me. Also, not everyone may like the coconut smell even though it is very light. All in all, worth a shot.

It was love at first sight when I set eyes on Bio-Essence 24K Bio-Gold Rose Gold Water, an utterly stunning rose water essence with tiny gold flakes filling up the entire bottle like stars in sunset skies.

When I opened the lid, the aromatic rose scent flirted with my nostrils and I could not help taking in a few more sniffs. The scent was so lovely, it made me excited to want to use it quickly.

I poured some onto my palm and was amazed to see tiny gold flakes falling onto my palm. I patted the lovely lightweight essence onto my face, letting the quality ingredients work their miracles.

The Japanese rose extract, Eijitsu, hydrates skin and keeps it moisturised. 24K bio-gold provides skin with protection against free radicals.

All in all, this beautiful product helps skin to tighten pores, moisturize, smoothening and delay signs of aging. Yes, my skin feels simple and hydrated throughout the day, so I highly recommend this skincare regime.

Review on REBIRTH Placenta Cream

I have long heard about the benefits of placenta creams, but had never thought of trying because of several factors, such as possible allergic reactions, oddity of placenta for skincare, etc. That was until my sisters-in-law passed me 2 tubs of Rebirth Placenta Cream for my Europe trip, recommending that I  use them for extreme (dry) weather in winter.

Just a quick introduction, Rebirth is proclaimed to be Australia's No. 1 placenta cream using pure sheep placenta and a combination of oil base with water to create a smooth, rich yet non-greasy cream with many, many benefits to it. Some of the benefits include minimizing early signs of age spots as well as scars and discoloration, stimulation of new cell production, anti-wrinkle and moisturising properties.

I opened up the tub of Rebirth placenta cream expecting some strong gamey odor - but there was none. There was a very soft milky scent that was nearly undetectable. The cream looked very rich and greasy, but it was surprisingly light to the touch - velvety and easily absorbed into the skin.

My face felt hydrated but not oily nor sticky; it was a very comfortable feeling.  I used it more for nighttime though, but my sisters-in-law used it throughout the day to keep their skin from peeling due to dryness. As for me, I used to have very sensitive skin that would turn itchy and red in cold areas, but this cream (and lots of hydrating masks and serum) have prevented that - keeping my skin lovely in wintry Europe, even up on the snowy mountains in Switzerland.

I am definitely loving this cream, oh and guess what? The price is amazing - it retails for less than AUD$10.00 in Australia, and can be ordered online (for us not staying in Australia) via certain trustworthy portals for less than SGD$20.00 per tub of 100ml placenta cream.

Review on Kose Infinity Pure Advance Serum III

Kose Infinity Pure Advance Serum III is not your typical serum - it is a hydrating cream type emulsion that is to be applied gently onto the face, giving you all the benefits you need to counter skin-ageing.  Let's take a look at what lies behind the beautiful, feminine pink facade.

Two beauty treatment rooms are used for facials and eyebrows / eyelash services, whereas 2 comfortable leather sofa-styled chairs line the front of the parlour, for us to enjoy our manicure and pedicure treatments in.

The manicure chairs are actually massage chairs as well, enabling customers to enjoy back-rubs while getting our nails done. The chairs also come with matching boards and foot-stools, so that we could lie down and rest our wrists comfortably on the boards during the nail pampering sessions (most places expect us to place our hands onto cushions). Plus plus point - after I selected the nail color I wanted, Vinci (who works for Yoga) painted one of my nails to let me see how the actual hue looked, and only when I liked it, did she proceed to do the Classic Gel Manicure for me.

Lunar New Year is around the corner, and everyone yearns to look their best, especially when visiting with relatives we have not seen for a year.

As such, facials are essential and I was privileged to be invited for an Oxygen Rejuvenating Facial (worth SGD$288.00) by Privilege Boutique. They are specialists in premier skincare products (such as dead sea minerals, plants, and the use of pearl in their skincare range, etc) without using machines.

Location of the beauty salon is near the escalators so it should be easy to find, but the odd structure of the building itself resulted in me having to walk a few rounds before finding Privilege Boutique. Anyway, liked the elegant and clean feel of the glossy white interior, lined with beautiful products but exudes no cluttered feel.

After a short questionnaire, I was brought to the treatment room, tastefully decorated in black and white hues. The blanket was so velvety, so soft; it made me want to cuddle there for a long time.

Anyway, my therapist Claudia started by cleansing my face. Then she applied Geranium-Lavender Oil onto my face beside a soothing, medium-pressured facial massage.

After that, a device was set up to spray jets of cooling, refreshing Oxygen onto my face. The mists were very comfortable, and oxygen is supposed to help hydrate and firm the face, improving its condition.

Next, Claudia spread Almond Mask over my face. This is supposed to help firm and brighten my complexion, and has a soft sweet smell to it.

My skin was noticeably clearer, radiant and moisturized after the hour-long treatment. She finished the session with some toner and sunscreen. I felt so good about my skin I went out bare-faced after that.

Having tried and quite liked Astalift's Aqua Jelly using special film technology (review here), I was honoured to be invited for the Astalift Beauty Workshop this evening.

Just a brief introduction to Astalift - it is a beauty brand owned by Japan's company Fujifilm. In Japan they have a medical arm working on using technology to improve and restore beautiful skin, so you can imagine their products are made with cutting edge technology and quality ingredients.

So the workshop started with some food for us, followed by an educational talk by Astalift's beauty trainer Jason.

Demonstrations were done on several products, specially Aqualift Jelly, and the new nano product named "In-Focus".

We also got to try a Mocktail drink made with their delicious Pure Collagen drink.

Following that, the prize-catching moment where we had to grab 3 ribbons of the same color, within 30 seconds. The prize would be 3 travel-size Astalift Jelly. Needless to say, I got it.
