Located at Peranakan Place Complex right next to Centrepoint (I think between the jewellery shop and Bee Cheng Hiang bak kwa shop), Resveralife thrusts itself to the world boldly, with doors wide open to welcome everyone to step right in.

Interior decor is clean-cut, modern and elegant in a cold way - stark whiteness and metallic, like a page right out of a lifestyle magazine. This is a very new brand in Singapore, having opened for just around a month; the crew was friendly, polite and a little aggressive at times.

So the standard questionnaire and interview time commenced after I sat down, and was offered tea or water. The consultant patiently went through my skin concerns with me, and recommended several components in the customised Classic Facial I was to receive. She also explained to me what each step would do for me, which was pretty amazing.

Then I was led to the treatment room to change into their white robe for comfort. My beauty therapist entered shortly, and began the process of removing my makeup. She explained to me that all their products are made of natural ingredients, and that over here, they do not use any machines for treatments at all. All these amazing and efficient effects would be the wonderful workings of their products purely!

True to her word - after 2 rounds of makeup removal and cleansing, my therapist used Lionesse White Pearl Facial Peeling for exfoliation, while I lay in comfort imagining the benefits of what the fine white pearl powder was doing to my skin.

Next, she applied a layer of Warm Mask over my face, and a serum, and left it for 15 minutes. This step was supposed to eliminate dirt, oils and other skin damaging pollutants on my face, freeing the clogged pores. The colorless mask was a welcoming spread of warmth upon my face, especially when the room temperature was low.

After removing the mask, more serum was spread on my face while my therapist did an intensive Facial Massage for me. During the interview session with the beauty consultant earlier on, I was asked to choose if I wanted my facial massage to be "Light", "Medium"  or "Strong".  Wary, I chose the first option; the massage was very soothing and enjoyable, kneading the facial muscles concentrating especially around the cheekbone and under-eye areas. Oh, did I mention that before the massage, she applied more serum on my face? So in a way I guess she was rubbing the benefits of the serum into my skin, too.

Following that, another cooling Mask for firming and hydration; this time for 2- to 25 minutes. After cleaning off this mask, Moisturizer was applied to my face followed by a quick shoulder massage.

All in all, I enjoyed my facial treatment session here at Resveralife very much, and am glad that the crew is very confident in the results of their product range. The only drawback was the noise due to their location (right in front of a very busy road) - spa music was played rather loudly in the treatment room, but the contrast with the rock music played at the main reception area, as well as roaring traffic (remember that they have a open-door concept here) - provided little sense of serenity one seeks when visiting spa or facial parlours.

Still, thank you Resveralife Singapore for the facial pampering session!

[Poem] Wishing You Were Here

Falling Autumn leaves,
Mark the passing of years;
And they used to say,
That time heals all wounds.

I think of the saddened
Look in your dark eyes and
I remember how I ignored
Them; oh how that pierced.

I think of the places
You yearned to go with us;
Now we could only imagine
Your happy expressions.

Grasping the air,
Wishing you were still here;
Wishing we knew where
And when you would leave.

Lunch at The Dining Room @ Sheraton Towers Hotel

39 Scotts Road, Lobby Level, Sheraton Towers Hotel, Singapore 228230
Tel: 6839 5621

Located at the lobby level of Sheraton Towers Hotel is a cafe restaurant named The Dining Room serving up delectable buffet meals or a la carte orders, depending on individual diner's preference.

What caught my attention most was the cascading waterfalls, rockpools and lush landscaped gardens located at one side of the restaurant, giving the place a romantic and serene setting instantly. I fell in love with the place dearly, and was fortunate enough to be sitting right next to the waterfalls (separated by a ceiling-to-floor glass).

We decided to go for a la carte since it was lunch time and we are not big eaters. My friend strongly recommended their Asian / local cuisine. The restaurant started us with some Keropok aka crackers.

I opted for the Scallops Salad (SGD$18.00), made up of grilled, juicy and springy scallops on a bed of arugula (rocket) leaves. It was utterly delicious with smokey notes in its flavours and serving was generous.

My friend had the Ayam Penyet (SGD$28.00) consisting of crispy fried chicken, sambal grainy fried rice and egg.

Overall, it was a breathtaking dining experience and I would return, even if for the ambience alone. Check out my review on another restaurant at Sheraton Towers Hotel, Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant here.

Lunch at HarriAnns Table Cafe @ Bugis Junction

230 Victoria Street #01-01A Bugis Junction Towers, Singapore 188024
Tel: 6238 1200

Whenever I exited the MRT Station at Bugis, I would find myself being treated to aromas from HarriAnns Cafe. The Peranakan cafe has a small enclosed interior and long open-air exterior area, serving up traditional Nonya dishes at good prices.

I had the Nonya Curry Chicken with Rice (SGD$7.90) - thick and tasty curry broth pooling utterly tender chicken and soft whole potato. The plate of white rice was served with Achar aka pickled vegetables, whetting the appetite further.

Could not resist the colorful mini Nonya Kuehs (SGD$3.00) so I ordered a box. They tasted every bit as good as they look so I happily lapped up the cubes of red bean kueh, multi-layer kueh, yam kueh and pandan kueh etc.

Casual dining concept with hearty food generoualy portioned- I will be back to try more for sure.

Astalift x Sample Store - Regain Your Youth Beauty Workshop

Event: Astalift x Sample Store "Regain Your Youth" Beauty Workshop
Date: 8 February 2018
Time: 7.00pm - 8.00pm
Venue: Wisma Atria Level 1 Atrium

Having tried and quite liked Astalift's Aqua Jelly using special film technology (review here), I was honoured to be invited for the Astalift Beauty Workshop this evening.

Just a brief introduction to Astalift - it is a beauty brand owned by Japan's company Fujifilm. In Japan they have a medical arm working on using technology to improve and restore beautiful skin, so you can imagine their products are made with cutting edge technology and quality ingredients.

So the workshop started with some food for us, followed by an educational talk by Astalift's beauty trainer Jason.

Demonstrations were done on several products, specially Aqualift Jelly, and the new nano product named "In-Focus".

We also got to try a Mocktail drink made with their delicious Pure Collagen drink.

Following that, the prize-catching moment where we had to grab 3 ribbons of the same color, within 30 seconds. The prize would be 3 travel-size Astalift Jelly. Needless to say, I got it.

Finally, redemption of the Goody-bag comprising Astalift Hand Cream,  a long white unbrella and some more skincare samples.

Thank you Astalift for the fabulous and enriching event; as well as Sample Store for the invite!

Lunch at FYR Cycene Ond Drinc @ Raffles Place

19 Boon Tat Street, Singapore 069619
Tel: 6221 3703
Website: http://fyr.sg

Pronounced as "Fire Kitchen and Drink", this dimly-lit bistro restaurant is located in the heart of the CBD area, with pretty wall murals exuding a vintage feel. Service is excellent and they serve awesome SGD$25.00 set lunches with menus changed every 2-3 months. It was a revisit, to check out what is instore this quarter of the year.

The menu usually comprise European fusion dishes with an innovative twist. During my first visit, we had some Soup with popcorn, mains of Prawn Aglio Oilo and Barramundi, followed by lovely dessert of Poached Pear.

This time round, we tried their new set lunch menu, it was a pity that the 2 beef items were not available for the day. Just for your information, their dinner menu is very much more extensive, according to the service crew.

For the appetizers, the Red Wine Braised Beef Shin (with roasted shallot, pickled carrot and bacon) was awesome, as was the Torched Salmon Fillet (with avocado, semi-dried tomatoes, Spanish onions, ebiko and sweet wasabi sauce).

Mains were served when we completed the starters - the generous portion of Roasted Chicken Breast (with ratatouille, roasted baby potato and basil) was tender and moist; delicious. The Barramundi Tagine, served with sauteed vegetables, semi-dried tomatoes, olive, basil and an interesting fried gnocchi, was flavourful, and succulent.]

Moving onto desserts, the Vanilla Mille-Feuille was served with caramelised apple and vanilla ice-cream - beautiful and elegant flavours; while the Peach Crumble Tart was bolder with its red wine gelee and aromatic jackfruit ice-cream.

We enjoyed dining at FYR Cycene Ond Drinc tremendously, especially with the personalised service of one of their service crew who was always smiling, and checking to ensure that everything was marvellous.
