Lunch at Lenas @ Bugis+

Having visited Lenas by MOF before (review here) and enjoying their hearty, delicious food in a menu with very wide selection, we decided to bring The Niece here for lunch, before Christmas shopping commenced.

The outlet at Bugis+ was relatively quiet - not sure if it was due to December's holiday season, or because the mall is not widely patronized. Service was efficient before order, and decent thereafter. It was an open settings restaurant with the length of the restaurant facing the interior of the mall, so passerbys could look in at us dining and vice versa.

I liked it that the menu contained many different items though - mainly American, and Japanese Western fusion - from pizzas to pastas to omelet curry rice to steaks and hotpots, etc. Salads, desserts and drinks were all available.

Our Grilled Chicken Pasta came in a set, comprising of Garden Salad (refreshing, crunchy lettuce base, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese to add flavour), a Coke and scoop of Ice-cream.

Pasta was creamy and soft (though not soggy), rather springy, with a light garlicky note; the grilled chicken was tender and its exterior exuded hints of smokiness.

Pepperoni Pizza was made up of a thin, cracker-like crust that was very crispy. Flattened orbs of beef and some arugula salad completed a somewhat balanced, tasty dish.

Next, Ribeye Steak (SGD$28.00 with 2 sides) - we chose Onion Rings and Potato Wedged for sides. The steak, though medium well-done, was relatively succulent and delicious, especially when doused with robust black pepper sauce.

Chocolate Crunchy Sundae (SGD$5.20) concluded the meal for The Niece - she enjoyed the fragrant vanilla ice-cream riding on crunchy cornflake and chocolate crumbs at the bottom.

Beverages were a glass of rather smooth Red Wine (SGD$7.50 to top up when a main course is ordered) and Iced Mocha.

It was a hearty meal overall, albeit very quiet even for weekday lunch time (where's the office lunch crowd?). Three of us spent SGD$90.00 which was very value for money, given that we had mains, desserts and drinks. I do like their food and the wide variety, and can see myself coming back for more.
