Chilling Out at Wine Bos @ Cityhall

It was time for our monthly wine gathering aka Wine Friday, although this time it was down to just 3 of us even with an additional wine-r. Decided to chill out at Wine Bos to enjoy their selection of wine and perhaps have dinner there.

Ambience was a little sad if one looks past the lovely shelves of wine forming part of the decor at the back. Lighting was dim and chairs looked very worn out with obvious specks of "chipped off paint" all over. Upstairs fared better it seemed, and there was a live band too.

Food selection bordered around American and Italian cuisine - pizzas, nachos, chicken wings, and the Cheese Platter which they were trying very hard to sell us. Service was hospitable with warm greetings and very high efficiency at refilling water / wine glasses but knowledge was seriously lacking. I wouldn't complain too much about the latter though since at least 2 staff were new (understandably, manpower in F&B industry is tough currently) and the supervisor himself comes over to address our questions personally.

Happy Hour Free Flow Housepour was going for a mere SGD$20.00 so we had that - one of us had the (Chilean) red wine and one of us chose the (Spanish) white wine. The usual price per glass is SGD$8.00 for usual housepour and SGD$12.00 for premium range.

The Rose Wine was all right too, going for SGD$11.00 a glass.

We started with a round of Nachos (SGD$7.00), which was recommended to be better compared to Fries (we were debating between the two). The Nachos looked very sad and was doused heavily with diluted sauce, so it wasn't crunchy or palatable at all.

It was an interesting experience and we had our wine at a very value for money rate. That said, sorry but I guess Wine Connection and Wine Company are more preferred.
