Poem: Of Summers and Gossamer

I'm soul-ed by this song,
The trappings of the vast ocean waves,
The azure skies and warm touch,
We were tided over like sands.

And you've lingered ever since,
Like the faint scent of Summer;
Like the gentle touch of gossamer,
Turning back of the pages of time.

And I know, my dear,
That though you call her "my love",
A part of your heart still beats for me -
I hear the pulsation like Winter's breath.

And I know, my fear,
That being near you would burn,
Stripping me off the cloak of sense,
Yet I fear even more, losing this love.
