Lunch at Lenas Modern American Italian Restaurant (again)

After the first review at Lenas Restaurant (at Bugis Junction, which has since closed / moved to a smaller unit on level 2 with MOF), I revisited Lenas Modern American Italian Restaurant for lunch, but this time at Jem's outlet - the exact address being 50 Jurong Gateway Road, #01-16, Singapore 608549 and the contact number being 6338 7368.

As usual, the many offerings in the menu made us spoilt for choice and my colleague and I decided to take the set lunches (SGD$11.90++) - this cold cut salad forming the first part of the meal. The greens comprised of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onions and slices of ham, topped with thousand island dressing, giving us a crisp, refreshing start to our meal.

The drinks were served next - we ordered Ice Lemon Tea but I added an additional Iced Yuzu Tea (SGD$3.90) for myself.

My colleague's main course of Breaded Chicken Breast topped with chilli and garlic powder and two slices of cheese - he mentioned that while the chicken was crispy and the taste was "not bad", it consisted of too much flour on the breaded layer, and hence, made one feel filled up far too fast. The criss-cross fries were lovely and crispy.

I had the Black Pepper Salmon which consisted of a thick strip of grilled salmon fillet, with hot black pepper sauce on the side, served with some vegetable and I added a sunny side up egg for SGD$2.00. The salmon was rather succulent and tasty, and its flavor was further enhanced with the spicy sauce and sweet eggy flavor, of course.

Just when we thought we could take one bite no more, they served a single scoop of Vanilla Ice-Cream, which was the last part of our set lunch. The ice-cream was lovely, with a heavy vanilla flavor and not too sweet, the perfect touch to end off this value for money lunch we'd just enjoyed.
